The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) recently organized a Seashore Yoga Session at Arambol beach in Goa, as part of their preparations for the 9th International Day of Yoga Celebration. The event was witnessed by a huge gathering of around 200 people that comprised faculty members, hospital staff, BAMS scholars, and tourists. The session was organized in accordance with the Ayush Ministry of India’s protocols, to ensure maximum safety and enjoyment for all participants.
The event commenced at 7:00 am and continued for an hour and a half. Prof. Dr Kalpana Sathe, Associate Dean of AIIA, Goa, extended a warm welcome to the participants, inaugurating the session with the chanting of the Patanjali Yoga Sutra Prayer and the Samudra Vasane Devi Mantra. This created a harmonious atmosphere and brought a spiritual aspect to the session.
The main Yoga protocol was skillfully coordinated by Dr Yogesh Shinde and Mrs Mohini Metti, ensuring that the session adhered to Ayush Ministry’s guidelines, while providing maximum benefits to participants. The session embraced various yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditative practices, promoting physical and mental well-being.
After the session concluded, the AIIA distributed Ayur Raksha and Bal Raksha kits to the villagers and foreign tourists gathered at Arambol beach. This initiative aimed to enhance public health awareness and provide essential resources for personal well-being.
In a statement, Director of AIIA New Delhi, Prof. Dr. Tanuja Nesari, congratulated the dean and faculty of AIIA, Goa, for the successful organization of the event. She emphasized the importance of yoga and its transformative power, encouraging people to embrace its principles for a better life.
The Seashore Yoga Session is a stepping stone towards the grand celebration of the 9th International Day of Yoga, which will be observed globally on June 21, 2023. As an institution dedicated to promoting the benefits of yoga, AIIA remains committed to creating awareness and promoting ancient practices for the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of all.
Recently, AIIA, New Delhi in collaboration with National Institute of Sowa and Rigpa, Leh conducted Yoga sessions from June 7-9, 2023, at Leh, Ladakh. The 5th battalion of the Indo Tibetan Border Police Force also participated in the event.
