Interestingly, during the filming of the wedding scene, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia tied the knot in real life in April 2022. Recalling the moment, Alia shared that while shooting the reel wedding, she wore a heavy lehenga along with a heavy dupatta, quite the opposite of her simple and light sari in her actual wedding. She expressed gratitude for the simplicity of her real wedding, as she believed she couldn’t recreate those experiences.
Furthermore, Alia revealed an unforgettable moment from the film where the dialogue ladka aage jaata hai was said during Rocky and Rani’s pheras. She humorously responded, nahi ladki aage jaati hai, mai abhi abhi karke aayi hu, reminiscing about the parallels between her real and reel wedding.
Adding to the connection between fiction and reality, Alia shared another incident involving Ranbir. During the Varmala ceremony, when Ranbir was lifted up and Alia was left standing, looking for someone to pick her up, Ranbir went down on his knees so that Alia could put the Varmaala on him—an endearing gesture that mirrored their real-life wedding.
