Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon Win Best Actor; R Madhavan’s ‘Rocketry’ Takes Best Film at National Film Awards 2023, India

Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon emerged as the winners of the prestigious National Film Awards 2023, bringing joy to film enthusiasts across India. The National Film Awards, known for honoring the best in Indian cinema, are presented annually by the government of India. This year, Alia Bhatt was awarded Best Actor (Female) for her remarkable performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi, while Kriti Sanon took home the same honor for her marvelous portrayal in Mimi. Allu Arjun was bestowed with the Best Actor (Male) award for his role in Pushpa: The Rise.

In a moment of triumph for R Madhavan, his directorial debut Rocketry: The Nambi Effect was recognized as the Best Film at the National Film Awards. The film showcases the inspiring story of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). In the non-feature film category, Garwali and Ek Tha Gaon were recognized as the Best Non-Feature Films. The talented Nikhil Mahajan was awarded the Best Director for his Marathi film Godavari.
