Alcorn State Secures SWAC West Title with Victory in Soul Bowl
In an impressive display of skill and determination, Alcorn State emerged victorious in the highly anticipated Soul Bowl, securing the SWAC West Division title in the process. With a final score of 28-24, Alcorn State’s win over Jackson State signifies their dominance in the football arena.

While the score was tied at 21 in the third quarter, quarterback Aaron Allen and wide receiver Malik Rodgers came together to connect for a crucial 12-yard touchdown, propelling Alcorn State ahead in the competition. These two teams finished the season with matching records, both 7-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play. However, Prairie View A&M’s head-to-head victory secured their spot in the SWAC championship game against Florida A&M on December 2nd.
