Trent Richardson loomed over the Michigan football team as they celebrated their Rose Bowl victory in the locker room. Not the actual Alabama running back, of course, but a larger-than-life photograph capturing Richardson crossing the goal line at the Rose Bowl Stadium in January 2010, helping UA secure their first national title under Nick Saban.
As the Wolverines reveled in their triumph, one of them playfully remarked, I know that bowl bonus must have hit, eliciting a chuckle from a passing coach.
Meanwhile, Alabama’s locker room presented a contrasting scene, although it shared similarities with its Michigan counterpart. While both locker rooms were chaotic with players celebrating their opportunity to compete in the upcoming national title game against Washington, the Wolverines’ locker room floor was littered with items that were absent in the Tide’s space.
