Ajit Pawar Chooses Mumbai Over Usual Pune Visit

Ajit Pawar, a prominent leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), missed his usual visit to Pune and instead chose to remain in Mumbai as his base, citing the ongoing legal battle surrounding the party. Pawar was scheduled to attend an award ceremony event organized by NCP leader Appa Renuse in Pune on Saturday, but he opted to avoid the city for the program.

Party workers in Pune were eagerly awaiting Pawar’s visit, as they wanted to felicitate him for his new responsibilities. Pradeep Deshmukh, who was appointed as the working President of the city unit by Pawar, assured the party workers that their leader would soon visit the city and meet with them.

However, the current situation has made it mentally challenging for Pawar to visit Baramati, his home district. A senior NCP leader, who asked to remain anonymous but is known to be loyal to Sharad Pawar, acknowledged that in the past, Ajit Pawar would always make it a point to visit his home district even when he held a position in the state cabinet. Nevertheless, given his recent rebellion, it is understandable that he would find it difficult to return to Baramati.

In light of the legal battle that has ensued since Ajit Pawar’s rebellion, a leader from his faction suggested that it would be best for him to remain in Pune for the next few days to counter the ongoing legal challenges. While Pawar chose to stay in Mumbai, Dilip Walse-Patil, another minister from Pune district, did visit the city on Saturday. Walse-Patil planned to visit his assembly constituency on Sunday and meet with party workers in Manchar-Ambegaon.

This recent development has sparked discussions about the course of action Sharad Pawar will take, as he had previously stated his intention to reach out to the public rather than engaging in a legal battle. It seems, however, that he has already begun the legal process. The coming days will provide further clarity on the unfolding situation within the NCP.

In conclusion, Ajit Pawar’s decision to stay in Mumbai instead of visiting Pune for an award ceremony reflects the complexities and challenges that have arisen within the NCP. While party workers eagerly await his visit and the opportunity to felicitate him, the ongoing legal fight has made it mentally tough for him to return to his home district. As the situation continues to evolve, both factions within the party await further developments and potential resolutions.
