IndiGo and Air India have struck a major deal with Airbus and Boeing to purchase around 1500 aircraft, generating optimism and creating job opportunities across the US and India. This historic agreement, the biggest single purchase agreement in commercial aviation history, has garnered praise from world leaders during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the US, and according to a White House statement, is set to support more than one million jobs in 44 different US states.

The $100 million agreement backed by Boeing will help to bolster India’s need for 31,000 pilots over the next 20 years, and with the completion of a C-17 aftermarket support facility and a new logistics center in India, the country’s civil aviation sector looks set to receive a much-needed modernization boost.

Air India has gone one step further, signing pacts with Airbus and Boeing to purchase up to 470 planes for an estimated $70 billion. The purchase includes a mix of wide-body and narrow-body planes, making the Tata Group-owned airline one of the biggest A320 Family customers in the world.

This deal comes at a crucial time for both India and the US, as they begin to recover from economic turbulence, high inflation rates, and bank failures. With the purchase of these aircraft, millions of jobs will be created across both countries, providing a much-needed boost to their respective economies. The deal is also a reflection of the growing collaboration between India and the US, and a promising sign for the future of their bilateral relations.

Overall, this massive purchase agreement signifies a significant shift in the aviation industry, and the job opportunities it generates will provide much-needed relief to both countries during these uncertain times.
