The AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) has passed a resolution against the Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai over his remarks on the former chief minister, J Jayalalitha. The resolution was announced by the Leader of Opposition and AIADMK General Secretary, Edappadi K Palaniswami. Annamalai was quoted in an English daily, stating that Tamil Nadu was number one in corruption, with many administrations being corrupt and even former chief ministers being convicted in courts of law. The AIADMK, which was led by Jayalalithaa from 1991-1996, has condemned Annamalai’s comments and stated that their party leaders and cadres are sad and restless. Palaniswami has also highlighted that Jayalalithaa was a role model for many and had good relationships with many senior leaders of the BJP, including backing the party’s government at the Centre.
