Aerosmith’s Peace Out tour has hit a roadblock after frontman Steven Tyler suffered a vocal cord injury. The legendary American band had just begun their North American leg of the tour on September 2 in Philadelphia and were set to perform in Toronto, Canada on September 12. However, due to Tyler’s medical condition, they have been forced to postpone six shows. Tyler’s doctor has ordered him not to sing for the next month as he needs time to recover from vocal cord damage that resulted in bleeding.

Expressing his disappointment, Tyler took to social media to share the news with his fans. He wrote, I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days. I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.

Fans who had purchased tickets for the postponed shows need not worry, as all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Additionally, refunds will be available for those who are unable to attend the new dates. The band has requested fans with refund inquiries to contact their point of purchase.

The rescheduled dates include shows in Detroit, Chicago, Washington, Toronto, Raleigh, and Cleveland in the United States. Aerosmith, known for their iconic hits like I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing and Walk This Way, had announced in May that the Peace Out tour would be their final tour since forming in 1970. The tour, consisting of 40 dates, was initially planned to conclude in January 2023 in Montreal, Canada.

It is undoubtedly disappointing news for Aerosmith fans, who were eagerly looking forward to witnessing the iconic band in concert. However, the health and well-being of Steven Tyler must take precedence, and the band will undoubtedly return to the stage once he has fully recovered. Let us hope for a speedy recovery for the rock legend and that the postponed shows will soon be rescheduled, allowing fans to witness an unforgettable performance.
