Actress’ Resume Sparks Speculation of Borderlands 4 Leak, Genvid Entertainment Clarifies with Surprise Announcement
Fans of the Borderlands franchise were abuzz with excitement recently when an actress’s online resume seemingly confirmed the existence of the highly anticipated Borderlands 4. However, Genvid Entertainment, the studio behind the series, has since stepped forward to clarify the situation and surprise fans with an unexpected announcement.
The actress in question, Angie Jho Lee, had listed Borderlands 4 and the role of Aiyumi under her voice over section on her resume. This evidence sparked speculation that the popular game’s fourth installment was in the works. However, Genvid Entertainment has set the record straight, explaining that Jho Lee’s involvement is actually related to a different project.
In a statement, Genvid Entertainment revealed that Angie Jho Lee is a voice actor on their upcoming interactive streaming series called Borderlands EchoVision Live. The series, which takes place within the Borderlands universe and is a collaboration with Gearbox Entertainment, is not a traditional game but rather an interactive streaming experience. The statement further explained that Jho Lee had been asked to update her resume to accurately reflect her role in the interactive series.
Following the clarification, Jho Lee’s resume was duly updated to mention Borderlands EchoVision Live specifically. This update, however, does not necessarily debunk the possibility of a future Borderlands 4 installment. Despite today’s rumors, neither Genvid Entertainment nor Gearbox has officially confirmed or refuted the existence of the highly anticipated game. However, Gearbox co-founder Randy Pitchford had previously ignited speculation when he tweeted in 2021 about working on the big one, implying a fourth entry in the main Borderlands series.
While the existence of Borderlands 4 remains uncertain, there are numerous other exciting developments within the Borderlands universe. Leaked information from the South Africa ratings board suggests the potential release of a new all-in-one collection called The Borderlands Compilation: Pandora’s Box. Additionally, fans can now mark their calendars as Eli Roth’s Borderlands film is set to hit theaters on August 9, 2024.
As the rumors and speculations concerning Borderlands 4 persist, fans eagerly await official announcements from Genvid Entertainment or Gearbox. Until then, the future of the beloved franchise remains shrouded in mystery and anticipation.
