A 20-year-old man named Sahil, accused of the horrific murder of a minor girl in New Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy area, has been sent to judicial custody by the Delhi police. The accused allegedly killed the minor on March 28 by stabbing her multiple times and crushing her head with a boulder. The police recently recovered the knife allegedly used by the accused to commit the crime. On Thursday, Delhi’s Rohini Court extended the police custody of Sahil for the next three days. A CCTV grab of the incident shows Sahil purportedly stabbing the girl repeatedly before kicking her and bludgeoning her head with a nearby concrete slab. People were witnessed walking past the crime scene without intervening. The police were informed about the incident ten minutes later and registered a First Information Report (FIR) under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Shahbad Dairy Police Station. The accused was arrested by the Delhi Police near Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh on March 29. According to the police, the accused had a quarrel with the minor on May 28 night and killed her with multiple assaults.
