Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad activists protested outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Tuesday, condemning the government’s failure to implement fire safety measures at coaching centres in the city. The protest, held in the Civil Lines area of north Delhi, was a response to the fire that occurred on June 15th in a building housing coaching institutes in Mukherjee Nagar. During the incident, students were forced to use ropes, ladders, and smashed windows in their attempts to escape the blaze.

According to the ABVP, the AAP government has acted negligently towards ensuring the safety of students at coaching centres and is using anti-student measures. The activists called for increased fire safety measures to be implemented across the city’s coaching hubs.

Protests such as these highlight the importance of ensuring the safety of students in educational institutions where they spend a considerable amount of time. The responsibility of providing safety measures and proper facilities for students falls on the government. In the case of Delhi, it appears that the protesters feel that the government is not doing enough to protect the students.

It is crucial to note that protests, such as this one, need to be taken seriously. It is important to investigate their claims and take the necessary steps to ensure student safety. The government has a duty to respond appropriately and take action where necessary.

This protest is an opportunity for government officials to review safety protocols and measures and take steps to avoid the repetition of such tragic incidents. It is also an opportunity to improve communication with students and make them aware of what measures they can take to increase their safety.

Ultimately, the safety of students should be a top priority for all educational institutions and the government equally. While protests and activism can help draw attention to important issues, it is up to the government to address these concerns and take appropriate steps towards ensuring the safety of students.
