Voice actor Yusuke Shirai, known for his roles in popular anime series such as Sasaki and Miyano and Combatants Will Be Dispatched!, has been featured in a new TV commercial for Japanese beverage company Suntory’s barley tea brand GREEN DAKARA Yasashii Mugicha.
The commercial, which aired on Japanese TV and was also released on Suntory’s YouTube channel, features Shirai promoting the gentle and soothing qualities of the tea made with germinated barley.
Interestingly, Shirai’s appearance in the advertisement was recommended by an AI Director created using the language processing tool ChatGPT. Based on the AI’s recommendation, Suntory developed a proposal for the commercial.
Suntory commented that the resulting advertisement was unexpected and unique, saying that It’s a commercial that humans couldn’t have come up with.
In a tweet, Shirai acknowledged the AI’s contribution to the advertisement’s concept and expressed his hope that viewers enjoy the refreshing taste of the tea.
The commercial is a prime example of the increasing use of AI in creative fields, with tools like ChatGPT being utilized to generate innovative ideas and concepts that would not have been possible through traditional means.
