The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has announced the launch of its first-ever off-campus BS Degree in Electronic Systems program. The program focuses on aspects such as digital systems, electronics, control engineering, and embedded programming, aimed at enabling students to put engineering principles into practice. The program also includes hands-on practical training at IIT Madras for a better understanding of the electronic systems.
The program is aligned with the country’s semiconductor mission and developed in consultation with industry leaders, ensuring a strong fundamental knowledge and industry-ready skills that will lead to high employability after the program.
Upon completion of the program, students will be skilled enough to be employable across various sectors like automotive, semiconductor, and defence industries for positions such as electronic system designer, embedded system developer, electronics hardware specialist, system testing engineer, and electronics research engineer.
The program’s coordinator and a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Madras, Prof. Boby George, aims to provide learners with diverse opportunities to thrive in the ever-evolving professional landscape. He emphasizes the program’s comprehensive skill set, preparing graduates to meet the dynamic needs of the industry and drive technological advancements forward.
