Three BJP functionaries in Madhya Pradesh have been booked by the police after they allegedly threw ink on the district education officer (DEO) of Damoh, SK Mishra. The incident occurred after a row over headscarves being part of a private school uniform. The state education department suspended the recognition of Ganga Jamuna Higher Secondary School last week after a controversy arose over a poster depicting girls wearing headscarves that resembled hijabs. Mishra initially gave the school a clean chit, but the district collector later formed a probe committee following the Chief Minister’s directive. After the ink attack, the DEO Mishra accused the accused of trying to suppress the issue, though he had not directly been involved in the school inquiry. The incident was condemned by the Madhya Pradesh BJP unit president, VD Sharma.
