Police in Lakewood, Colorado are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a sexual assault that occurred earlier this month. The incident took place in Walker Branch Park on Sunday, August 6th, when a female jogger was attacked. According to the Lakewood Police Department, the suspect began following the jogger for nearly two blocks before assaulting her from behind at the intersection of 14th Avenue and Harlan Street.
During the attack, the suspect reportedly grabbed the victim from behind with both arms and proceeded to fondle her. After the assault, the suspect fled the scene on foot, heading northbound on Harlan Street. In an effort to apprehend the suspect, the police have released a picture of the man and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s, with a thin build, standing approximately 5’8 to 5’10 tall. He is also reported to have black facial hair.
