Suvendu Adhikari questions Mamata’s timing of compensation distribution after Odisha train mishap

West Bengal leader of opposition, Suvendu Adhikari, has criticised Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the timing of compensation distribution to families of those who died in the tragic train accident in Odisha’s Balasore last week. Adhikari has accused Banerjee of an inhuman approach, calling for the compensation cheques to be distributed through a grand program in Kolkata. According to reports, West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar has shared a video on his Twitter account indicating that victims’ family members have been offered compensation in RS 2,000 denomination notes. The compensation cheques are expected to be distributed at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday.
