The Mughal road, connecting Poonch and Rajouri districts in Jammu with Shopian in South Kashmir, has been closed again due to a landslide, just a day after it was reopened following a week-long closure. The debris from the previous landslide was cleared, and the road was open for one-way traffic, but it had to be closed again after the latest landfall. The closure is expected to cause inconvenience to travelers who use this route to travel between the two regions. An official has reported that the traffic movement has been temporarily suspended after the landslide occurred at Rata Chamb in Surankote. The road is currently unusable for vehicles, and authorities are working to clear the debris and make it accessible for use as soon as possible. Mughal Road is one of the most important routes in the region, and its frequent closures have caused travelers a lot of discomfort.
