A man in Co Down, Northern Ireland, has been subjected to a knife attack, resulting in a laceration to his face. The incident took place in the Bernagh Green area of Newcastle on Sunday morning. Fortunately, a suspect has been apprehended by the police.
According to Detective Sergeant Wilson, the assault occurred around 6.50 am when the victim, a man in his 50s, was assaulted at a property in the area by another man wielding a knife. The victim suffered a cut to the left side of his face and was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention.
The police have since arrested a 46-year-old man on several charges, including grievous bodily harm with intent, threats to kill, and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offense. The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
