Five colleges of Delhi University (DU) have made it to the top 10 colleges in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2023. The rankings were released recently by Union Minister of State for Education, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh. According to the NIRF, Miranda House is the top college of DU, followed by Hindu College. Other colleges in the top 10 include Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, Lady Shri Ram Women’s College, and Kirori Mal College.
The impressive performance of DU’s colleges has motivated the university to start offering a B.Tech programme for students from the upcoming academic session. Admission to three engineering courses will be done through JEE Mains. Delhi University will offer B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering, B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering, and B.Tech Electrical Engineering courses.
Jamia Millia Islamia (Delhi) secured third place in the University rankings, as announced by the NIRF. Jamia’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Najma Akhtar, expressed her happiness with the university’s progress, saying she was hopeful that the university would improve its performance in the coming years.
Officials have attributed the success of the colleges to the excellent research and teaching quality provided by the dedicated faculty and non-teaching staff. The rankings are indicative of the progress and positive strides made in Indian higher education over the past few years, and universities across the country are striving to improve the quality of teaching, learning, and research every day.
