Summer Fair Returns with Outdoor and Indoor Hours, Fun for All Ages
The county’s annual summer gathering is back, and it promises to be a fantastic experience for visitors of all ages. The fair, held at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center, will feature a wide range of activities, including games, rides, food, musical performances, and much more. Running through Sunday, August 20, the fair aims to provide entertainment for everyone.
To accommodate different preferences, the fair will have both outdoor and indoor hours. From 2-10:30 p.m., visitors can enjoy the outdoor activities, while indoor hours are from 4-10 p.m. The fair organizers have also introduced sensory-friendly hours to create a more inclusive environment, limiting loud music and other noises during those specific times.
Admission to the fair is completely free, as stated on the fair’s website, making it accessible to all. For those who wish to enjoy the rides, ride tickets can be purchased either online or on-site. Typically, each ride requires 3-6 tickets.
One of the fair’s highlights is the traditional collection of entertainment and competitions that are sure to keep visitors entertained throughout their visit. And of course, there will be a wide variety of food and drink options available to satisfy any cravings.
According to ARLnow staff photographer Jay Westcott, who recently visited the fair, there was a noticeable carefree vibe compared to previous years. Westcott remarked that it was the largest crowd he had seen since before the pandemic and that people genuinely seemed happy.
