Reliance Foundation, the philanthropic arm of India’s largest company, Reliance Industries Ltd, has announced relief measures for the families affected by the country’s deadliest train crash in decades. The measures include free rations for six months and employment opportunities for one family member of each deceased person. The foundation will also provide counselling services and support aids to those impacted by the accident in Odisha, which killed 275 people and left hundreds injured. The foundation’s specialist disaster management team was present at the scene of the accident and provided assistance to rescue operations.
