Gurugram-based teenagers Manya and Krish have established the Children’s Art Museum of India (CAMI), an online platform dedicated to providing young artists with an outlet to express themselves through art, fostering creativity, and community. The platform gives young artists a space to showcase their creations and learn from their peers, empowering them and inspiring creativity and connection among the next generation of artistic minds.
According to Manya, the platform aims to address a significant gap in the art world, as numerous platforms focus on art instruction, but there is a lack of platforms dedicated to showcasing young artists’ work. Furthermore, young artists struggled to connect and learn from their peers.
Krish feels that an online platform provides a safe and inclusive environment to express themselves freely, enabling young artists from all corners of India to showcase their artwork without limitations of geographical proximity, share, interact, and learn with their peers.
Manya suggests that museums in India need to create engaging and interactive exhibits incorporating innovative technologies and kid-friendly programs to ignite children’s curiosity and passion for learning. At CAMI, they have developed a Metaverse game on Roblox called the Children’s Art Museum to let users relish art museums in 3D and enjoy their artwork in an immersive experience.
Krish adds that the platform also facilitates parents to engage young children in meaningful conversations about art, critical thinking, and imaginative expression. Through artistic exploration, children develop problem-solving skills and promote self-expression.
Lastly, the platform provides free art education to young artists, ensuring that talented individuals, regardless of their background, have the opportunity to develop their skills and showcase their work.
