The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Northern Command, Lt General Upendra Dwivedi, along with Lt General Amardeep Singh Aujla and Lt Gen Sandeep Jain, recently visited Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan to discuss the present security scenario.
During the meeting, Lt General Dwivedi briefed the LG on the extensive security arrangements that had been made for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra in 2023.
The Indian Army’s role in restoring and preserving peace in the Union Territory was also discussed, and the LG appreciated their efforts.
In addition to the military officials, N. Venkataraman, Additional Solicitor General (Supreme Court), also visited LG Sinha at Raj Bhawan.
Separately, the LG paid his respects to Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji, the 37th head of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, in Srinagar. The Jagadguru is set to perform the Pran Pratistha of Maa Sharda Murti at Maa Sharda Devi Temple at Teetwal, Kupwara, on June 05.
Lastly, Civil Services qualifiers Waseem Ahmad Bhat and Manan Bhat also met with the LG, who congratulated and extended his best wishes to the two success stories. According to LG Sinha, their achievements will inspire other young people from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
