Indian Authorities Warn of Job Scams by Chinese and Nigerian Nationals in Chhattisgarh

Amid the rise of cybercrimes across India, Nigerian nationals and Chinese gangs in Chhattisgarh are reportedly deceiving innocent people with promises of lucrative job offers and profits through cryptocurrency investments. According to police officer AIG Kavi Gupta, fraudsters use foreign mobile numbers to impersonate foreign nationals and con people into performing easy tasks online while extorting money from them. Some tricksters make video calls using foreign numbers and extort victims on the threat of making their obscene videos viral. Gupta also warned against investing in cryptocurrencies, citing the high risks and technical knowledge required. He urged people not to fall into the trap of those offering higher returns through such investments.
