Former JD(S) State President and BJP MLC A.H. Vishwanath recently made a surprise appearance at a Congress event in Mysuru, sparking speculation about his plans. Vishwanath, who had resigned from Congress six years ago and later joined the JD(S), has been vocal about his disappointment with the BJP leadership, which he claims had promised him a ministerial berth but failed to deliver. At the Congress event, Vishwanath praised the party for its contributions to the country’s growth and progress and urged workers to educate the public on the implementation of the party’s ‘Five Pre-poll guarantees’. He also stressed that the campaign must be launched from Mysuru. Animal Husbandry Minister and Periyapatna MLA K. Venkatesh was felicitated at the event, and Vishwanath was given a warm welcome by Congress leaders. While the BJP has not officially commented on Vishwanath’s appearance at the Congress event, sources suggest that he may be considering a return to the Congress fold.
