The Delhi police’s Crime Branch has apprehended a 30-year-old criminal who was wanted in nine cases across Haryana and New Delhi. Rahul Sethi, a resident of Sagarpur in Delhi, was previously involved in 50 cases related to snatching, robbery, and auto theft. The police received specific information that Sethi, a proclaimed offender, would be arriving on a stolen motorcycle in Vikas Nagar. A trap was laid, and the suspect was arrested.
Rahul Sethi was born in Hisar, Haryana, and came to Delhi in 2000. In 2009, he was arrested in a snatching case registered at Chanakyapuri police station, after which he regularly committed robbery and snatching. He eventually became a history-sheeter of Sagarpur police station. Because he has been convicted in many cases, he did not attend court proceedings. In 2018, after his release from jail, he kept changing his address and, in 2022, stole a motorcycle from Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital in Jahangirpuri, Delhi, and began using it for robbery and snatching.
The Special Commissioner of Police (Crime), Ravindra Singh Yadav, said that the arrest of Rahul Sethi is a significant achievement, as the suspect has been wanted in several cases across Delhi and Haryana. The police will continue their efforts to crack down on criminals and ensure the safety and security of the public.
