In the wake of the tragic train accident that occurred in Odisha, the state government has announced a free bus service to Kolkata for stranded passengers. The service will be available from three cities including Bhubaneswar, Puri, and Cuttack.
Due to the triple train tragedy, regular train services to Kolkata have been disrupted and people are facing difficulties to reach the city. To alleviate the situation, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced the free bus service that will continue until normal train services resume on the Balasore route.
Around 50 buses will travel daily from the three cities of Odisha to Kolkata. All the costs associated with this service will be covered by the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). The move is expected to help stranded passengers reach Kolkata with ease.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) confirmed that the bus service has been set up keeping in mind the greater benefit of the commuters. The service is expected to be a great relief for those who have been stranded due to the sudden disruption of train services.
