A fire broke out early Sunday morning at a hostel room in Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, according to a fire department official. The Director of Delhi Fire Service, Atul Garg, reported the incident stating that the emergency call came in at around 6:09 a.m. The fire started in room number 89 on the first floor of the old boys’ hostel at the college. It quickly spread to furniture, clothing, and an air-conditioning unit in the room.
The fire department dispatched seven fire tenders to the scene to extinguish the blaze. Luckily, no casualties were reported.
The incident was handled promptly by the fire department and did not cause any major damage.
