13-Year-Old Girl Brutally Assaulted in Cheltenham Park: Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
In a shocking incident that unfolded in Pittville Park, Cheltenham, a 13-year-old girl was subjected to a brutal assault by another teenager. The young victim had been walking in the park with her relatives on Friday, August 11, when a group of teenagers began shouting abuse at them. What followed was an utterly distressing ordeal that has left the community in dismay.
According to the authorities, between 4:50 pm and 5:20 pm, the group of teenagers continued to hurl abuses at the girl and her family as they made their way through the park. Despite the verbal assault, the young girl pushed forward. However, fate had something more sinister in store for her.
As the victim turned away, one member of the group reportedly ran up from behind, swiftly grabbing her hair and pulling her to the ground. The assailant, believed to be a teenage girl aged around 16 or 17, ruthlessly kicked the victim’s ankles and held her throat in a frightening display of aggression.
The brutality didn’t end there. The attacker proceeded to deliver multiple blows to the girl’s face and head, leaving her with significant bruising and a noticeable lump on her head. Adding to the distress, the assailant also threw a drink at the victim during the assault.
Thankfully, several members of the public intervened to stop the assault, prompting the group to flee the scene. Witnesses reported that the assailants were seen heading towards the direction of the leisure center. Their swift escape has made it imperative for witnesses to come forward and assist the authorities in identifying those responsible.
The attacker has been described as a white teenage girl, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, with dark brown hair tied in a ponytail. At the time, she was dressed in denim shorts and a pink long-sleeved top with puffy arms. It is worth noting that the offender was spotted in the town center earlier in the day.
