Prime Minister Narendra Modi Expresses Confidence in Returning to Power in 2024, Promises Account of India’s Achievements on August 15, 2024

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a speech on Tuesday exuding confidence in his re-election in 2024 and pledged to provide an account of India’s achievements on August 15, 2024, from the iconic Red Fort.

Modi expressed gratitude to the people who elected him to power in 2014 based on his promises and re-elected him in 2019 due to his performance. He emphasized that the next five years are crucial for the country’s development, as India aims to become a developed nation by 2047. The Prime Minister assured the nation that he would present a comprehensive report on the country’s accomplishments on the next Independence Day.

During his speech on the 77th Independence Day, Modi emphasized that India has overcome its slave mentality and is marching ahead with confidence and determination. He urged the citizens not to miss the opportunity to realize the nation’s potential during this historical period. The decisions and sacrifices made now, according to the Prime Minister, will shape India’s glorious future for the next millennium.

Addressing the issue of corruption, nepotism, and appeasement, Modi called for collective action to combat these three evils that have plagued the country. The government’s anti-corruption measures have resulted in the removal of 10 crore fake beneficiaries of welfare schemes, and the crackdown on ill-gotten assets has increased twentyfold. Modi stressed his commitment to fighting corruption throughout his life. He also criticized dynastic politics and appeasement, stating that they have hindered social justice and need to be eradicated.

Highlighting India’s role during the Covid-19 pandemic, Modi emphasized that the country emerged as a global friend by helping numerous nations in their time of crisis. He expressed the vision of a strong India that contributes to global welfare. The pandemic has reshaped the world order, and India has emerged as the voice of the global south.

Touching upon the sensitive situation in Manipur, the Prime Minister assured the people of the northeastern state that the central and state governments are working together to restore peace at the earliest. He called for peaceful resolution of disputes, stating that peace is the only way forward.

Modi also highlighted the completion of the new Parliament building, a project that had been discussed for 25 years. The Prime Minister commended his government for delivering the new building ahead of schedule, emphasizing their commitment to achieving set goals.

Acknowledging the contribution of women’s self-help groups (SHGs), Modi praised their role in India’s development and stated that the G20 grouping has recognized India’s approach of women-led development. The Prime Minister shared his dream of creating 2 crore lakhpati didis (financially independent women) in rural areas and announced plans for a new policy to strengthen women’s self-help groups in the agricultural technology sector.

Modi concluded his Independence Day speech by expressing his belief that by the time India celebrates 100 years of freedom in 2047, the country will have achieved developed status. He emphasized the potential of India’s demographics, democracy, and diversity in realizing the dreams of its citizens.

In his address, Prime Minister Modi painted a vision of a confident and forward-looking India, committed to combatting corruption, empowering women, and achieving significant milestones in its developmental journey.
