The recent train accident in Odisha’s Balasore region has left the family of one man from Motihari town in Bihar devastated. Raja Patel was travelling with six friends to Kerala in search of work when their train was involved in the accident. Unfortunately, Raja lost his life in the tragic incident. The ambulance company charged Rs 45,000 to bring Raja’s body back home, leaving his family members in a difficult situation as they struggle to make ends meet on a daily basis. Bhuvan Patel, Raja’s father, explained that Raja was the only breadwinner of the family and his death has left them helpless. Raja got married last year and has a two-month-old child.
Two of Raja’s friends, Vijay and Sanjay, are critically injured, while the other four have suffered injuries but are out of danger. The Bihar government has decided to send a team of officials to provide assistance to the victims who were injured or killed in the Balasore railway tragedy. Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, has asked the state chief secretary to constitute a team of officials comprising a district magistrate rank officer, a panel of doctors, and other employees.
District Magistrate, Saurav Jorwal, stated that they are providing assistance to the families who lost their loved ones in the Odisha train tragedy. The Railway Department had announced compensation for the families of the victims. However, Bhuvan Patel expressed his frustration at the lack of official support from either the state or central government. Raja’s wife and mother are also struggling to come to terms with their loss.
