OPM and K-pop Collide: On Music Festival Unites Moira Dela Torre, Darren Espanto, EXO’s SUHO, and Wave to Earth

Two worlds are set to collide as the On Music Festival brings together the best talents from the OPM (Original Pinoy Music) and K-pop scenes on one stage. This spectacular event, organized by ABS-CBN and South Korea’s entertainment brand KAMP, is scheduled to take place on November 3rd at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The announcement, made by Star Music PH on August 13th via social media, revealed the lineup for the festival. Filipino acts Moira Dela Torre and Darren Espanto will be joined by Korean acts SUHO of EXO and Wave to Earth. And there’s more to come, as additional artists will be announced soon.

Kim Jun-myeon, popularly known as Suho, is a member of the South Korean mega group EXO. With two extended plays under his belt, Self-Portrait in 2020 and Grey Suit in 2022, Suho has showcased his versatility by exploring various genres like ballad rock and modern-indie rock.

Wave to Earth, a three-piece indie-rock band, has gained attention for their whimsical and soothing songs such as seasons, bad, and light. Their presence at the festival is sure to captivate the audience, and their popularity on social media platforms like TikTok is a testament to their talent and appeal.

Joining Suho and Wave to Earth on the stage are two renowned Filipino artists, Moira Dela Torre and Darren Espanto. Moira has made a name for herself with her emotional and heartfelt songs, earning her a loyal following. Tracks like Malaya, Tagpuan, and Paubaya have resonated with audiences and showcased her beautiful lyricism.

Darren Espanto, who rose to prominence through the Voice Kids Philippines, has been exploring a more mature pop sound in his recent projects. His growth as an artist and his ability to connect with listeners through his music will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression at the festival.

Fans and music enthusiasts can expect more exciting details about the On Music Festival in the coming weeks. Early bird tickets, ticket prices, and the lineup for the second wave of performers will be announced soon, adding to the anticipation and excitement leading up to the event.

This fusion of OPM and K-pop not only showcases the diversity and richness of the global music scene but also provides an opportunity for fans from different backgrounds to come together and celebrate their shared love for music. The On Music Festival promises to be a memorable and unifying experience for all attendees.

As the world eagerly awaits this groundbreaking event, music lovers are counting down the days until November 3rd, when the barriers between OPM and K-pop will blur, and an unforgettable celebration of musical talent will unfold at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
