Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is currently in judicial custody for his alleged involvement in the Excise Policy scam case, was unable to see his ailing wife at their residence on Saturday, as her condition had deteriorated and she had to be taken to the hospital. The Delhi High Court had previously given Sisodia permission to meet his wife from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

However, when Sisodia arrived at his house at 10 a.m., he was informed that his wife has already been taken to the hospital. Sisodia had filed for interim bail through his lawyer, citing his wife’s medical condition as grounds for release. The CBI and ED had both filed charge sheets against him in the fraud case.

The court has taken cognizance of the charge sheet filed against Sisodia and dismissed his bail plea earlier. Sisodia did not speak to reporters as he entered his residence, as per the court’s direction.

It is a difficult time for the former Deputy CM, as he struggles to balance his legal battles and personal hardships. The court’s decision to refuse Sisodia’s bail plea and his wife’s hospitalization will undoubtedly lead to more stress for the prominent politician.

It is a reminder that the pandemic and the ongoing legal proceedings have taken a significant toll on politicians and their families.
