Rajnath Singh to Engage in Bilateral Talks with American and German Counterparts

India’s Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to hold bilateral talks with his US and German counterparts on June 5 and 6 respectively, according to the Defence Ministry. Discussions will focus on improving defence collaboration with the US and Germany. US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin will visit New Delhi on June 4 for a two-day visit, marking his second trip to India after March 2021. Federal Minister of Defence for Germany, Boris Pistorius, will arrive in New Delhi on June 5 for a four-day stay and attend an event organised by Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX). In addition to his meeting with Rajnath Singh, he is also expected to visit the headquarters of Western Naval Command and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited. The Ministry stated that both meetings in Delhi are likely to feature several bilateral defence issues, such as industrial cooperation.
