BJP West Bengal Chief to Provide Assistance at Accident Site

West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Sukanta Majumdar announced that a party delegation will visit Odisha’s Balasore to provide all possible help after several coaches of a passenger train derailed after colliding with a goods carriage. Majumdar said that the people of West Bengal stand by the bereaved families of the victims and that they will collaborate with the Railways and the state government to provide relief to as many distressed persons as possible. West Bengal BJP general secretary Jyotirmay Singh labeled the accident as very unfortunate. Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena confirmed that the death toll in the train accident has risen sharply to 207, with 900 passengers injured.
