Citizens Group Organises Dogs’ Day Out for Shelter Animals on Animal Rights Day in India

On June 4, animal rights group India Unites for Animal Rights (IUFAR) will host a unique event called “Dogs’ Day Out” in Delhi–NCR, where shelter dogs will be given the chance to enjoy freedom outside their confined enclosures. The event is part of Animal Rights Day, which takes place on the first Sunday of June to raise awareness of animal rights. Around 20 animal welfare organizations in the Delhi-NCR region will take part in the initiative, inviting volunteers to choose one of 21 shelters to visit and participate in an activity. The aim of the event is to offer shelter dogs greater exposure to human company and friendship, something they miss out on in shelters. abandoned pet dogs and injured strays make up the majority of shelter residents.
