Tanya Lee Glover, a woman whose body was discovered tightly wrapped and partially buried in a wall after more than a decade, had never been reported missing. The grisly find was made by cleaners in the garage area of an apartment block in Brisbane’s north in December last year. After nine months of investigation, Queensland Police have confirmed that the skeletal remains belong to Glover, who would have been approximately 38 years old at the time of her death.

According to police, Glover’s body was disposed of between 2009 and 2010. She had never been formally known to Queensland Police, and no missing person reports had ever been filed for her. Glover is believed to have relocated from New South Wales to Queensland in 2006 and resided in the Fortitude Valley area until 2010. She had visual and hearing impairments.

No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed in connection with her death or disappearance. The discovery of Glover’s remains shocked the cleaners who found them, as they were tightly wrapped and hidden behind a locked area in the unit block’s car park. Police noted that the body had been concealed in a way that disguised any potential odor.

Despite the body being hidden over 12 years ago, no residents in the unit block reported any suspicious activity or foul smells. Superintendent Andrew Massingham stated that the person responsible for disposing of Glover’s body had not done so effectively. He suggested that they may have intended to return for the body but failed to do so.

The identification of Glover’s remains was a major breakthrough in the investigation. Using the National DNA Program for Unidentified and Missing Persons, investigators were able to match DNA markers from the unidentified victim to known profiles of biological relatives. This led them to notify Glover’s parents, who were unaware that their daughter was missing.

Detective Superintendent Massingham revealed that investigators were now focused on determining who might have known or harmed Glover, as well as establishing the cause of her death. Her remains showed evidence of trauma, and investigators are also looking into the possibility of sexual assault. They are urging anyone who may have interacted with Glover between 2006 and 2010 to come forward with information.

The investigation into Glover’s mysterious death is ongoing as police explore various leads and possible motives. Superintendent Massingham emphasized the disturbing nature of the case and encouraged anyone with relevant information to contact the authorities. The police have confirmed that there is no known connection between Glover and the Alderley unit block where her body was discovered.

As the investigation continues, police aim to uncover the truth behind Tanya Lee Glover’s death and find justice for her after more than a decade of being hidden in a wall.
