RJD MLA Mukesh Raushan has accused the SHO of Sadar police station in Hajipur of corruption and threatened to stage a protest if he is not held accountable. Raushan has alleged that Asmit Kumar, the Sadar SHO, has connections with liquor mafias, sand mafias, land mafias, and other illegal organizations. He has been accused of taking bribes and refusing to file FIRs without them. The Vaishali police and district magistrate have been informed, and if action is not taken against Kumar, a protest in front of the district magistrate’s office will be initiated. This is the first instance of an RJD MLA alleging corruption against a police officer.
