Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the second phase of the YSR Yantra Seva Scheme by flagging off tractors, combine harvesters, and other farm machinery in Guntur. Machines worth Rs 361.29 crore were handed over to RBKs-attached farmers’ groups, including 2,562 tractors, 100 combine harvesters, and 3,573 farm machines. The scheme aims at reducing the cost of cultivation and enhancing farmers’ income through mechanization. The government will provide a 40 percent subsidy on the purchase of machines, while 50 percent of the cost will be through loans. The Chief Minister directly transferred Rs 125.48 crore of subsidy into the bank accounts of farmers’ groups. Farmers can hire tractors and harvesters for lesser rents through cluster level community hiring centers. Additionally, the government plans to distribute sprayers, tarpaulins, and breeders in October, benefiting seven lakh farmers.
