Prominent Islamic Scholar Murdered in Gombe: Police Impose Movement Restriction
The Gombe State Police Command has taken a strict measure to restrict movement in the state following the shocking murder of a well-known Islamic scholar, Sheikh Albani Kuri. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday when armed robbers, their identities still unknown, invaded Sheikh Albani’s residence located in Bobona, Tabra quarters, on the outskirts of Gombe, the state capital.
According to sources, masked assailants entered the scholar’s house and demanded money. Sheikh Albani, however, bravely resisted their demands, leading to a violent confrontation. Sadly, he was overpowered and subjected to a brutal attack with a knife and cutlass, resulting in his untimely death.
