Opposition members in the Lok Sabha staged a walkout while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was responding to the debate on the no-confidence motion. Addressing the incident, Union Minister Smriti Irani stated that those with the intention to loot the country cannot bear to listen to the Prime Minister. She emphasized that these individuals refuse to accept the fact that the people of the country have put their faith in PM Modi.
During his speech, PM Modi took a dig at the opposition parties and expressed gratitude for the trust shown by the people. He praised the fact that the opposition had brought a no-confidence motion against his government, stating that it was a blessing from God. PM Modi confidently claimed that in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the NDA and BJP would achieve a grand victory, surpassing all previous records.
PM Modi recounted a similar no-confidence motion brought by the opposition parties in 2018, prior to the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. He highlighted that they were unsuccessful in mustering enough votes for their numbers, leading to their defeat.
In a lighthearted manner, PM Modi stated that the opposition’s no-confidence motions have always proven to be lucky for his government. He concluded by affirming his belief that the NDA and BJP would return with a resounding victory in 2024, with the blessings of the people.
