Aberdeen Asia Focus PLC Declares Fourth Interim Dividend & Jadestone Energy Finds Small Defect in Montara Venture

Aberdeen Asia Focus PLC, an investment firm specializing in Asian small caps, has declared its fourth interim dividend for the year ended July 31. The dividend amounts to 1.61 pence net per share, slightly higher than the previous year’s 1.6 pence. In total, the four interim dividends declared for the financial year 2023 come to 6.41 pence per share, compared to 6.4 pence the previous year.

In other news, Jadestone Energy PLC, an oil and gas production company focused on the Asia-Pacific region, has discovered a small defect in its Montara venture in offshore Australia. The defect was found between tank 4S and oil cargo tank 5C, but it poses no safety or structural risk and does not risk a hydrocarbon leak into the sea. Jadestone Energy is currently conducting final inspections in ballast water tank 4P and plans to resume operations soon.

Westmount Energy Ltd, an oil and gas investing company, has noted a proposed transaction announced by Eco (Atlantic) Oil and Gas Ltd. The transaction involves Eco acquiring a 60% operated interest in the Orinduik Block, offshore Guyana, through the acquisition of Tullow Guyana BV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tullow Oil PLC. The financial details were not disclosed, but upon completion, Eco will hold a 75% participating interest in Orinduik and become the block’s operator.

TI Fluid Systems PLC, a maker of automotive fluid storage and delivery systems, has declared an interim dividend of 2.3 euro cents per share. The dividend will be paid in sterling and converted from euro to sterling using the London closing spot rate on August 18.

ACG Acquisition Co Ltd, a special purpose acquisition company focused on new economy metals and mining materials, continues to discuss potential improvements to a proposed acquisition with its Anchor Investors and Appian Capital Advisory LLP. The long-stop date for a decision is August 18, after which either ACG or Appian Capital may terminate the agreement. The book-building process remains paused, and ACG has decided to cancel the retail offer, with funds previously paid to be returned to retail investors through PrimaryBid.
