Japanese Rajinikanth Fans Travel to Chennai to Witness Jailer’s Highly-Anticipated Release

The Rajinikanth frenzy extends far beyond India, as proven by a Japanese couple who recently traveled all the way to Chennai to watch the superstar’s film, Jailer. The duo, dressed in Rajinikanth-themed outfits, seemed thrilled to be among fellow fans as they immersed themselves in the Rajini fever.

Yasuda Hidetoshi, the leader of the Rajinikanth fan club in Japan, expressed his undying admiration for the superstar, stating that he has been a dedicated fan for nearly 20 years. His first Rajinikanth films were Muthu (1995) and Baashha (1995), and since then, he has made it a point to travel to Chennai whenever a new Rajinikanth film is released.

In a video shared by PTI, the Japanese couple can be seen proudly donning matching Rajinikanth-themed T-shirts while holding fans featuring images of Rajinikanth and Tamannaah Bhatia from their film Kaavaalaa. Yasuda even delighted fans by reciting lines from Jailer and other Rajinikanth movies.

The couple’s journey to Chennai is not an isolated incident. Rajinikanth’s return to the silver screen with Jailer has sparked celebrations among fans in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kerala. In one video, a fan in Chennai can be seen paying homage to Rajinikanth by imitating his style, sporting similar glasses, shirt, hairstyle, and salt-and-pepper beard. Another video showcases fans performing an Abhishekam ritual using milk packets, while others adorn posters of Jailer with massive garlands.

The enthusiasm of Rajinikanth’s fans knows no bounds. In Bengaluru, fans eagerly gathered outside a theatre, bursting crackers and showering flowers on those entering for the movie’s first-day first show.

Jailer holds special significance as it marks Rajinikanth’s comeback after a two-year hiatus since his last film, Annaatthe. Apart from Rajinikanth, the ensemble cast features Ramya Krishnan, Jackie Shroff, Vasant Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Reding Kingsley. The song Kaavaalaa, featuring Tamannaah Bhatia’s infectious energy and captivating dance moves, has already taken the internet by storm.

The dedication and love exhibited by Japanese Rajinikanth fans, as well as fans across South India, showcase the immense impact Rajinikanth has had on cinema lovers worldwide. His films continue to transcend boundaries, captivating audiences and garnering unprecedented support.
