Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Arunachal Scouts at Bomdila along with two scouts. The infantry battalion, which was raised on June 1, 2013, aims to serve the state and country with the concept of “Sons of Soil”. The unit was officially inducted into the Four Corps Zone on March 8, 2014, with its headquarters based in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Kameng district. Khandu hailed the Arunachal Scouts as the flag bearers of the state in the Indian Army and praised army units for their strong relationship with the civilian population. Khandu expressed his hope that the Indian Army and central armed paramilitary forces will aid in the successful implementation of the Vibrant Village Program, which aims to transform all villages along the border. He also requested the army and CAPF units to give training to local unemployed youths in preparation for recruitment drives, including those under the Agniveer program.
