Rajasthan’s Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, Pratap Khachariyawas, has predicted that the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will face defeat in the state assembly elections due to growing resentment among citizens. According to Khachariyawas, the people of Rajasthan will oppose the BJP due to the policies of the central government that have led to inflation and unemployment in the state. The minister stated that the BJP had promised to provide employment to two crore people every year, but in its nine-year term, it did not even fulfill this goal. Khachariyawas also claimed that the relief given to electricity consumers by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was criticized by the BJP. Thus, he concluded that the BJP would lose the upcoming elections in Rajasthan, akin to its loss in Karnataka.
