Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited Ajmer, where he made various attacks on Congress. Interestingly, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stayed silent during the visit and instead announced an important relief program for residents of Rajasthan, to the surprise of many. Gehlot’s announcement included free power on using 100 units and a subsidy on using 200 units. The Leader of the Opposition, Rajendra Rathore, criticized Gehlot’s timing and accused the party of trying to deceive the public with sudden announcements. Meanwhile, PCC President Govind Singh Dotasra praised the Congress government’s good governance and said the BJP’s propaganda has failed in Rajasthan. Gehlot’s OSD Lokesh Sharma also criticized the PM for failing to mention the Eastern Rajasthan Canal project in his speech, which he had previously mentioned during his visit to Ajmer in 2018. Overall, the visit sparked both criticism and praise among political leaders.
