Britain has announced new sanctions on an Iranian drone maker and several other foreign businesses. The move comes as part of an ongoing effort by Britain, the U.S., and the European Union to punish Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. The British government has accused the companies of supplying Russian forces with weapons and components to be used against Ukraine.

In total, the British government has imposed sanctions on 25 individuals and businesses from various countries, including Iran, Turkey, Belarus, Slovakia, Switzerland, and the UAE, in addition to Russia. The aim of these sanctions is to diminish Russia’s military arsenal and disrupt supply chains that support its defense industry.

Among those targeted by the sanctions are Iranian drone maker Paravar Pars and seven of its executives, who were already subject to U.S. sanctions announced earlier this year. Additionally, two Turkey-based exporters of microelectronics were also included in the sanctions.

The sanctions prohibit UK entities from providing trust services to the individuals and companies affected. They also impose asset freezes on any assets held by the sanctioned parties in the UK.

In addition to the drone maker and its executives, the British government has also imposed sanctions on other individuals. One of them is Anselm Oskar Schmucki, a Swiss national who allegedly heads the Moscow office of a Switzerland-based crypto asset manager, DuLac Capital Ltd. The government claims that Schmucki is involved in supporting the Russian government’s business activities in the financial services sector, which it considers of strategic significance.

The British government’s latest round of sanctions represents its most significant action to date against military suppliers in third countries. Since the start of the Ukraine conflict, the UK has sanctioned more than 1,600 individuals and entities.

It is worth noting that the article does not provide perspectives or opinions from different sources or stakeholders. It simply reports the facts surrounding the imposition of sanctions on the Iranian drone maker and other foreign businesses.
