Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin has announced that he has sought a postponement of the meeting of leading Opposition parties in Patna on June 12 as he will be attending an inaugural ceremony on the same day. The meeting seeks to put together a grand Opposition alliance against the BJP-led central government ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha elections. However, Stalin confirmed the party’s participation in the meeting. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will meet with Stalin on Thursday to discuss the contours of a grand Opposition alliance against the BJP at the Centre. In addition, Tamil Nadu will host a World Investor Meet on January 10 and 11 next year, with officials from Japan and Singapore invited to participate. The event aims to create over 5,000 new jobs in Tamil Nadu. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has already held meetings with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar as part of efforts to galvanize the Opposition against the BJP.
