Huge Medicines Worth Rs 75 Lakh Seized from Uzbek Woman at Delhi Airport
In a recent incident at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) made a significant discovery. They detected a large quantity of medicines, worth approximately Rs 75 lakh, in possession of a female passenger traveling from Uzbekistan. The incident took place on August 4, when CISF surveillance and intelligence personnel noticed suspicious activities by the foreign passenger, identified as Ekhtivor Abdhullaeva. She was scheduled to travel to Almaty on an Air Astana flight.
Due to her behavior raising concerns, Abdhullaeva and her belongings were subject to random checking using X-ray baggage inspection. During the examination, the CISF personnel observed images of a substantial number of medicines stored in three cartons she was carrying. While she was allowed to proceed for immigration checks, her movements were closely monitored both physically and electronically. Additionally, the customs officials were informed about the situation.
Surprisingly, Abdhullaeva altered her travel plans after the detection of the medicines. She was intercepted, and a joint investigation was conducted by the customs department and CISF to uncover further details. A thorough physical examination of her belongings resulted in the recovery of a significant quantity of medicines valued at around Rs 75 lakh. Abdhullaeva failed to provide any supporting documents for carrying such a substantial quantity of medicines.
Subsequently, the lady passenger, along with the detected medicines and all her belongings, was handed over to the customs department for necessary action. The CISF officials worked in close coordination with the customs authorities to ensure appropriate handling of the case.
